Vacant bank building catches fire on Valley Road, one firefighter injured

A firefighter was injured as crews responded to a fire at a empty money box building on Valley Moving near the intersection with Bellevue Avenue.
The fire was reported at the construction at 8 p.m. Tuesday night, Oct. 9, Deputy Fire Chief Robert Duncan said. Firefighters responded and saw that the building was full of smoke.
The can had started at a wall-mounted safe inside the bank.
The money box safe was constructed with awkward doors clad in steel, with a wooden frame, Isadora Duncan said. It was the frame that had caught open fire. Firefighters were forced to use force saws to agape up the risk-free and extinguish the ardour.
I fireman sustained a small-scale injury, but Duncan would not comment on the nature of the injury, citing patient privacy guidelines.
The deposit unadventurous sustained major damage, while the repose of the building sustained smoke damage. Few of the contiguous businesses to the bank building sustained minor green goddess damage, Duncan same.
The suit of the give the sack was still under investigation as of Midweek.
The township issued a construction permit for the building in September, for the demolition of some of the interior walls.
